Establishment

John Mountford Optometrists was established in 1975 after John bought the well established practice of Hamlyn Brier. The practice is situated on the 3rd Floor of 141 Queen St which is in the centre of the mall on the corner of Queen and Albert Streets. It is on the opposite corner from Hungry Jacks and Citibank is situated on the ground floor of the corner of the building.

John Mountford

John is a highly experienced contact lens specialist with special interests in advanced contact lens fittings for patients with Keratoconus and other diseases of the cornea. John’s area of expertise also includes orthokeratology and fitting contact lenses to babies after surgery for congenital cataract.

John has lectured worldwide on topics ranging from contact lens designs to managing contact lens complications and the reduction in myopic progression in children.
